A playful drawing-to-music game
Draw music online: make a playful sound doodle
Make a mark and hear what it does. Play Music Theory is a browser playground where a line, dot, or squiggle becomes part of a tiny loop. There is no score to read and no right answer—just a canvas that answers back.
Start with one satisfying little shape.
Make a small rising line, then press Play. Low marks begin lower and high marks sound higher. A smooth climb makes a rising sound; a dip turns the same gesture upside down.
Keep the first doodle short enough to remember. That makes each playful change obvious when you move, stretch, or redraw it.
Treat the page like a tiny arcade timeline.
The drawing runs from left to right. Put marks close together for quick action and leave wider gaps when you want the loop to breathe. Repeating a shape at steady intervals gives the doodle a satisfying pulse.
- Left side: where the loop begins.
- Right side: where it turns around and starts again.
- Higher marks: a higher sound in the selected scale.
- Several marks together: a fuller moment in the loop.
Mess with it. Then listen again.
Move one line up, make it shorter, or shift it later in the loop. Every small change gets an immediate reply. That is the game: curiosity first, then one more idea.
